Competition to establish RI in Japan continues. Last week, the Japanese prefecture of Wakayama announced that there were no new plaintiffs interested in establishing the local governor’s tilt at a casino complex. Stakeholders will be private sector partners in the new facility.
The plaintiffs who submitted their proposals before January 15 are the same ones who were declared qualified in May 2020 by the prefecture.
One of the suitors is Clairvest Neem Ventures and Suncity Holdings Japan Co Ltd, based in Canada. The other is the local Japanese unit connected to Suncity Group, which is a Macau-based investor.
In Japan, RI (integrated resort) is an abbreviation known as large-scale casino complex with associated tourist facilities. The establishment of the new IR is a Important event for Wakayama prefecture, as it is for any other Japanese prefecture, as it will bring many benefits.

Competition to host complex

Wakayama and Osaka are not the only prefectures vying for the right to host a resort. Earlier this year, Hodo Nakamura, the governor of Nagasaki Prefecture, announced that Nagasaki is beginning its request for proposals process for a casino complex.
It is rumored that three foreign companies They are interested in establishing the RI in Nagasaki. Two of them are based in the United States and one is an Asian operator.
