The franchise of Naruto was born as manga published in Weekly Shonen Jump, one of the most popular comic publications in Japan. The series quickly rose to prominence, becoming part of the Jump’s iconic “Big Three” along with One Piece and Bleach. That popularity increased around the world with the launch of its anime adaptation. According to the release, the esports organization will launch “over a dozen” clothing items including a denim jacket, Jonin-inspired parka, jogging pants, hoodies, and a variety of short-sleeved t-shirts. Mike Milanov, Team Liquid’s Chief Business Development Officer, said: “Team Liquid’s goal is continue to excel in the world of clothing and innovative co-branding programs. We know that gaming constantly intersects with other industries and cultures, especially anime.
“Like our fans, we love anime and Naruto is one of the most successful anime franchises of all time. We couldn’t be more excited to announce this strategic partnership to our fans, ”they added. Unlike previous clothing collections, the collaboration between Team Liquid and Naruto is exclusive to the United States, with the collection arriving in the eSports organization’s online store on February 12. Clothing should have a price between 35 and 100 dollars. To celebrate the launch, Team Liquid has collaborated with actor and director Dominique “King Vader” Barrett, known for his “Hood Naruto” videos on Youtube, to create a live-action anime short. Last year Team Liquid partnered with a number of companies to expand its clothing line, including Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand tokidoki and Marvel, with the latter also renewing its partnership with the organization.
