Former PokerStars boss leads Hard Rock’s new digital gaming and betting division

Gaming and hospitality giant Hard Rock International is looking to tap into the lucrative online casino and sports betting sectors with the recent launch of its Hard Rock Digital division.

The company said Hard Rock Digital is a joint venture with the best talent in the industry and will serve as its and Seminole Gaming’s exclusive vehicle for interactive gaming and betting in the US and internationally.

A trio of renowned gaming industry executives have been appointed to lead Hard Rock’s digital gaming division. Former CEO of Stars Group, Rafi Ashkenazi, will serve as CEO and CEO of Hard Rock Digital, the former Stars Group executive, Marlon goldstein, will serve as CEO and CEO of the newly formed company, and the former president of FOX Bet, Matt primeaux, will serve as CEO and President.

Mr. Ashkenazi will join Hard Rock Digital in 2021. This year, the former gaming industry executive briefly served as Non-Executive Director of Flutter Entertainment after the Irish gaming giant acquired The Stars Group. Mr. Ashkenazi was CEO of The Stars Group from 2016 until its sale to Flutter.

Hard Rock Digital’s management team will report to an independent company board of directors. It will be chaired by the president of Hard Rock International, Jim Allen. The newly formed digital gaming operation will be based in Hollywood, Florida.

Expansion of sports betting and online games

Outlining its plans for its new digital division, Hard Rock said Monday that it will expand the gaming and hospitality giant’s digital business and will improve the customer experience on all of the company’s online gambling offerings.

Hard Rock President Mr. Allen further noted that Hard Rock Digital will also seek “Strategic brand and distribution opportunities” both in the United States and around the world.

Hard Rock Digital will benefit from extensive database by Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming, consisting of more than 130 million customers and boasts a space of just under 250 land-based venues in 76 countries to offer an omnichannel offering for online casino games and sports betting.

Hard Rock is launching its digital gambling division just as the US sports betting industry is poised to see further growth in the coming months after five more states will legalize sports gambling during the November vote.

Commenting on the new digital gambling and betting business, Hard Rock Digital CEO Marlon Goldstein said they are honored to join forces with Hard Rock on this new venture. The longtime gambling executive went on to say that Hard Rock “is constantly at the forefront of innovation and vision in the gaming industry “and that its casinos, hospitality and entertainment venues are” iconic around the world. ”
